The Lincoln Way West (LWW) track and field team took first place out of 16 teams at the Downers Grove South Invitational, highlighted by multiple record-breaking performances and 31 personal bests.
Senior Austin Rowswell led the charge, setting school records in both the 200-meter dash (21.82 seconds) and 400-meter dash (47.48 seconds). Rowswell also helped the 4x100-meter relay team — alongside Chase Markowicz, Ryan Stiglic, and Michael Kennedy — set a school record with a time of 42.77 seconds.
Anthony Lusciatti added to the record haul, setting a new school best in the 300-meter hurdles at 38.79 seconds. Sophomore Hunter Spee broke the sophomore 800-meter dash record with a 1:56 finish.
Top individual finishes included Rowswell placing first in both the 200 and 400 meters, Nick Dul winning the 3200, Brendan Vlasak taking first in the 110-meter hurdles, and Lusciatti claiming the 300 hurdles. Spee earned second in the 800, and Caleb Terdic took second in the freshman 200.
In relays, the 4x100 team claimed gold, while Lusciatti, Spee, Wolf, and Johnson secured silver in the 4x400.
