Lincoln-Way West’s boys track and field team delivered a dominant performance at the Lincoln-Way West Boys Invitational on Friday, May 2, 2025.
Junior Chase Markowicz opened the meet with a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash, clocking in at 11.20 seconds. Senior Austin Rowswell doubled up with wins in the 200 and 400-meter dashes, posting times of 22.06 and 48.69 seconds, respectively.
Hurdles standout Brendan Vlasak, a senior, took first in both the 110-meter (14.75) and 300-meter hurdles, while teammate Anthony Lusciatti followed closely behind with a second-place finish in the 110s at 15.15 seconds.
The Warriors also saw success in field events and relays. Logan Heinen won the discus, Quinn Forsythe took the triple jump, and Ryan Stiglic claimed the pole vault title. Lincoln-Way West swept all three sprint relay events, taking first in the 4x100, 4x200 and 4x400-meter relays.
The hometown team’s strong showing across multiple events underscored their depth and set the tone for the remainder of the season. With standout performances from underclassmen and seniors alike, Lincoln-Way West proved why it remains a force in Illinois high school track and field.
