Lincoln-Way West maintained its strong start to the season with a decisive 19-6 victory over Mother McAuley on Saturday, bringing their overall record to 6-0.
According to the team's performance, the Warriors' offense was relentless, amassing 16 hits and demonstrating power, patience, and speed throughout their lineup. Senior Kaylea Armstrong led the offensive effort, achieving a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two home runs, a double, five RBIs, and four runs scored. Madi Lukasik also made significant contributions with a 2-for-4 performance that included a home run, double, two RBIs, and three runs.
Reese Forsythe delivered an impeccable showing by going 2-for-2 with a homer, two RBIs, two runs scored, and a stolen base. Abby Brueggman added further firepower with her own home run, driving in two runs while scoring once and drawing a walk. Reese Rourke contributed by going 2-for-2 with two scores and adding an RBI, a walk, and a stolen base. Paige Seivert doubled and scored as part of her 2-for-4 effort. Reese Cusack went 2-for-4 with two runs and a stolen base.
Hannah Borchert also played an important role by driving in two runs and scoring three times while going 1-for-3. Lincoln-Way West exhibited sharp base running and timely hitting throughout the game against Mother McAuley’s defense from start to finish. The Warriors showed depth at the plate with contributions from nearly every position in their lineup.
